Day 1: Welcome to Hamilton IslandWelcome to Hamilton Island, one of 74 sparkling tropical islands that make up the Whitsundays. You'll be surrounded by pristine beaches and a kaleidoscope of coral and marine life. Meet your Travel Director and fellows travellers for a welcome reception and get to know them over a delicious meal.

Day 2: Hamilton IslandTake a cruise to explore famous Whitehaven Beach, voted Australia's best. Feel the sand between your toes and if you're up to it, take a walk lookout for views over the beautiful waters and island of the Coral Sea. This afternoon you're free to enjoy paradise. You could choose to discover native Australian animals at the island's wildlife park or grab a bite to eat at one of the island's restaurant and watch the world go by. Whatever you want to do, at some stage, sit back and relax by the resort pool with a good book.
Day 3: Hamilton Island - Mission BeachThis morning you'll board a ferry to mainland and continue north along the Bruce Highway for a stop at lunchtime in Townsville, where you'll have the opportunity to take a stroll allong the Strand with views to Magnet Island. Your destination for the nights is Mission Beach, where you'll stay with views over the ocean. Magic.

Day 4: Mission Beach - CairnsThis morning there will be time to take a walk along the shore and feel the golden sand between your toes before you depart Mission Beach. Today you'll travel through the high tropical plateau known as Atherton Tablelands, where lush rainforests, waterfalls and lakes abound. Visit Millaa Millaa Falls and see the famous Curtain Fig Tree. Keep an eye out for the spectacular Ulysses Butterfly while you're there. Continue to Kuranda where you'll stop around lunch time, Enjoy some free time to explore "the village in the rainforest". You may choose to journey to Cairns on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.

Day 5: Great Barrier ReefBoard a high speed catamaran and cruise out to Great Barrier Reef. The world heritage listed reef is the only living organism you can see from the moon. You'll have the opportunity to go snorkeling and view this natural living wonder up-close )equipment provided) and view the spectacular coral and tropical fish from the underwater observatory and the semi-submersible craft. Enjoy a tropical buffet lunch before you return to Cairns in the late afternoon. This evening join your Travel Director and companions for a farewell dinner. Share a few laughs over a drink or two and a delicious meal created with fish seasonal produce.
Day 6: Farewell from CairnsYour wonderful holiday comes to an end after breakfast when you bid a farewell to your new-found friends. You'll be transferred to Cairns Airport for your onward flight.

Your safari starts en rout to the Daintree rainforest. See historic Cooktown and the farm district of Lakeland. In Quinkan Country view Aboriginal art. Explore glorious Lakefield National Park, the gold town of Coen and the stunning Archer River. Delve into Weipa and go off-road in Bramwell.

Explore ancient Cape York before we cruise to beautiful Thursday Island.

Day 1: Cairns - CooktownYour adventure begins along the scenic coastal route to the World Heritage listed Wet Tropics Daintree rainforest. Cross the Daintree River by cable ferry and travel into the primavel jungle of Cape Tribulation, where the "Rainforest meets the Reef". Next is the rugged 4WDBloomfield Track (conditions permitting). Cross the Bloomfield River near the Aboriginal community of Wujal Wujal. On to visit the Lion's Den Hotel and eerie Black Mountain en route to historical Cooktown, where we visit Captain Cook's Landing, before setting in your accommodation.

Day 2: Cooktown - MusgraveThis morning travel through the agricultural district of Lakeland on your way to Quinkan Country near Laura. Climb the sandstone escarpment at Split Rock to view ancient Aboriginal rock art, dated in excess of 13,000 years old, depicting traditional activities and culture. Explore Lakefield National Park, Queensland's second largest at 542,856 hectares. Waterlily covered billabongs, wildlife and a great variety of birdlife makes for a memorable day before arriving at the century old Telegraph Station of Musgrave.

Day 3: Musgrave - WeipaThis morning cross the Great Dividing Range to visit the old gold mining town of Coen. Cross the picturesque Archer River before handing to the west cost of the Peninsula to the bauxite mining town of Weipa.

Day 4: Weipa - Bramwell StationThis morning you may wish to take an informative tour of the Weipa mining operation (own expense) or explore the township of Weipa at your leisure. After lunch (own expense), we head for our overnight accommodation with en suite facilities at a true blue Aussie cattle station, Bramwell Station.

Day 5: Bramwell - Cape York4WD adventure and fun today on part of the famous Telegraph Track through Cape Yor'k's unique wilderness of gigantic termite mounds, crystal clear creeks, carnivorous pitcher plants and prehistoric cycads. Lunch at pritine Fruit Bat Falls and a great chance to swim in its cool spring-fed waters. Across the might Jardine River by cable ferry and on to the northern-most settlements on mainland Australia where we stay for two nights.

Day 6: Cape York - SomersetAn unforgettable day! Stand at the very top of mainland Australia. We then visit Somerset (road conditions permitted), once the home of the legendary Jardine family. We have lunch on palm fringed Anchorage Beach which overlooks the Albany Passage. A walk on the beach completes your day before returning to Seisia.
Day 7: Seisia - Thursday Island - Farewell from CairnsSay farewell this morning as you board your boat to cruise to Thursday Island, capital of the Torres Strait Islands. Enjoy a guided tour of the island. Later, transfer by ferry to Horn Island to board your aircraft to fly over the Great Barrier Reef to Cairns Airport, ending your fascinating safari of adventure and discovery in Australia's far north.

Day 1: Cairns - ChillagoeWelcome to Cairns! You start your holiday by winding your way up to the Artherton Tablelands. Travel on to Chillagoe, known for its marble mining and limestone caves. Tour the caves, the legacy of a 350 million year old marine reef.

Day 2: Chillagoe - GeorgetownAll abroad the Savannahlander train as it tracks the Ootann Road into Brahman cattle country. Watch the landscape change from limestone to granite to basalt country, as you head west across the Newcastle Range to Georgetown.

Day 3: Georgetown - KarumbaEnjoy a morning "smoko"on the shore of Croydon's Lake Belmore. In historic Normanton take in famous landmarks like a "Purple Pub", Burns Philip General Storeand a replica of Krys, the 8.63m crocodile. Continue to Karumba on the Gulf of Carpentaria for a cruise to enjoy a spectacular Gulf sunset.

Day 4: Karumba - Adel's GroveTravel back through Normanton this morning and visit Burke & Wills Camp #119, the most northerly campsite of the ill-fated 1860 expedition. Cross the vast "Plains of Promise" to Leichhardt Falls and Burketown. Then it's on to Abel's Grove where you'll spend two glorious outback nights in permanent tent safari accommodation.

Day 6: Lawn Hill - NormantonVisit the World Heritage listed Riversleigh Fossil Fields, a rare treasure house of paleontology recording the history of Australia's mega-fauna of 20 millions years ago. You'll have lunch at Gregory then take a short break at remote Burke & Wills Roadhouse, before travelling on to Normanton.

Day 7: Normanton - Cobbold GorgeAll abroad the historic Gulflander RM96 train for a ride through the savvanah landscape across the Norman River to Critters Camp. This afternoon you'll visit Georgetown and Forsayth on way to Cobbold Gorge.

Day 8: Cobbold Gorge - UndaraThis morning cruise on Cobbold Gorge's beautiful and secluded waterway, surrounded by spectacular carved Hampstead sandstone which is 135 million years old. Travel on the famous Undara Lava Tubes. There's campfire entertainment after dinner before retiring to your accommodation in faithfully restored antique railway carriages.

Day 9: Undara - Farewell from CairnsEnjoy breakfast in the Australian bush, before guided tour to fascinating 190.000 year old lava tubes, a geological spectacle said to be the largest in the world. Now you'll descend to Cairns where your adventure in the remarkable Gulf Savannah region comes to an end.

Day 2: Port Macquarie - Gold CoastJourney to Cape Byron Lighthouse and enjoy superb views over the Pacific Ocean from Australia's eastern-most point. At the right time of the year you may be luck enough to spot migrating whales frolicking off the coast, For lunch we recommend fresh fish and chips on thr beach at Byron Bay - there's nothing more Australian! Continue to the famous holiday destination, the Gold Coast, where you'll stay for the next two nights.

Day 3: Gold Coast "Free Time"Today is yours to do as you choose. You may like to take an optional experience to the stunning Gold Coast Hinterland to discover the rainforest and the picturesque village of Mt. Tamborine or just take the opportunity to relax and unwind with a stroll along famous Surfers Paradise beach.
Day 4: Gold Coast - NoosaAfter a short tour of buzzing Brisbane, visit Australia Zoo made famous by Crocodile Hunter, the late Steve Irwin and his family. Enjoy a sneak peak into the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital and see how AAT Kings works with the Wildlife Warriors to support the koala rehabilitation project at the hospital , the country's largest and busiest wildlife facility. Catch one of the many shows and wander through the zoo's fascinating grounds. Later travel to the resort town of Noosa for relaxing stay. This evening join your fellow travellers for dinner at a restaurant with views to the beach.

Day 5: Noosa "Free Time"Take time out to discover Noosa for yourself. Swim at Noosa Main Beach or venture a little further with an easy, spectacular walk along the headland through Noosa Natural Park. If you're feeling adventurous, you may like to hire a stand-up paddle board or even take a boat ride through the incredible Noosa Everglades, one of Australia's most beautiful wilderness areas. You'll love the dark waterways and myriad of wildlife along the Noosa River- it's truly spectacular! This evening choose one of the town's eateries and dine on inspiring local delights.
Day 6: Noosa - Hervey BayA day of discovery lies ahead as you cross this ferry to explore World Heritage listed Fraser Island. Your 4WD tour takes you to the coloured sands of Rainbow Beach (tidal) and beyond. Walk through the ancient rainforest at Central Station with its huge satiny, scribbly gum and Kauri trees and enjoy lunch before arriving in Hervey Bay.

Day 7: Hervey Bay - RockhamptonStop at Langmorn Station, a fully operational cattle station. A member of the Creed family will treat you to a guided tour of the property including their original family homestead, built in 1873. Enjoy afternoon tea in the garden in the company of the pet kangaroo! Cross the Tropic of Capricorn you arrive in Rockhampton, the beef capital of Australia. You night is free so why not try some local beef at one of the town's steakhouses.

Day 8: Rockhampton - Hamilton IslandReavel north to the sugar town of Sarina for a guided tour through a miniature sugar mill. Discover the growing, harvesting and crushing processes of sugar cane.
