Day 1: Melbourne - Warrnambool

Welcome to your holiday! This morning make sure your camera is charged for one of the world’s great road trips – the Great Ocean Road! Enjoy spectacular coastal scenery and the quaint seaside towns of Lorne and Apollo Bay. Visit the amazing Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge before arriving in Warrnambool.

Day 2: Warrnambool - Naracoorte

This morning visit Tower Hill State Game Reserve. Your guide will provide an Aboriginal perspective about flora, wildlife, volcanic formations, bush existence and medicinal practices in this dormant volcano. At Mt. Gambier visit the mysterious Blue Lake, then travel to the world renowned Coonawarra wine region. Stop at Brand’s Laira vineyard for a wine tasting. Afterwards you’ll continue to Naracoorte.

Day 3: Naracoorte - Kangaroo Island

Visit the seaside town of Victor Harbor at lunchtime. Why not relax with some fish and chips on the beach. Yum! This afternoon take a ferry bound for Kangaroo Island. Kick off your island adventure with a visit to South Australia’s only boutique distillery to taste a selection of their handcrafted premium spirits. All the spirits are hand made onsite, so you’ll be able to smell the aroma of botanicals, citrus peel or even fennel lingering as you taste the award winning Australian gin and delicious liqueurs.

Day 4: Kangaroo Island

Today explore Kangaroo Island! Visit spectacular Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch to enjoy the stunning coastal scenery, where you may even spot koalas, wallabies and kangaroos. Later, join your fellow travellers for a Be My Guest lunch at Andermel Marron Farm. Enjoy a tasting of the farm’s very own Two Wheeler Creek wine and farm-produced bush tucker before indulging in some marron for lunch. Try a hot or cold marron dish with a glass of wine and dessert. Afterwards join a ranger at Seal Bay Conservation Park for a guided walk among a colony of sea lions.

Day 5: Kangaroo Island - Adelaide

This morning board a ferry and return to picturesque Adelaide. On arrival enjoy an orientation of the glorious 'City of Churches' with your Travel Director, before checking in to your hotel. This afternoon you're free to explore Adelaide and enjoy a meal at any of the wonderful local restaurants.

Day 6: The Barossa

In the rolling Adelaide Hills and Barossa you'll have the opportunity to taste world-renowned wines! First stop is picturesque Hahndorf. Enjoy a wine tasting overlooking vineyards before continuing to The Barossa for lunch at The Company Kitchen, part of the South Australian Company Store. They believe in locally produced South Australian food and that a food experience is to be savoured and enjoyed. You'll taste two local wines with canapés that feature fresh local produce, followed by a delicious main meal of your choice. Travel back to Adelaide through the Barossa's rolling hills. This evening join your Travel Director and new-found friends for a farewell dinner.

Day 7: Farewell from Adelaide

After an indulgent week away, your holiday concludes this morning after breakfast. Not ready to head home yet? Why not consider a 3 night cruise on the Murray River aboard the PS Murray Princess.

Day 1: Arrive Adelaide

Welcome to Adelaide, South Australia’s capital, renowned for its gourmet delights and thriving culture. From the airport you will be transferred to your hotel, your home for the next two nights. Enjoy a welcome dinner to celebrate the wonders of South Australia with your travel companions.

Day 2: Adelaide

Freechoice: Discover the history and culture of Adelaide on a walking tour or taste your way through the Adelaide Central Markets tour. Alternatively, choose between an Adelaide city sights tour which includes the famous, newly renovated Adelaide Oval or a Torrens River cruise with a visit to the Adelaide Zoo.

Day 3: Adelaide - Flinders Ranges

Travelling north today we stop in Port Augusta, situated on the quiet waterways of the Spencer Gulf. Visit the Wadlata Outback Centre and travel through the ‘Tunnel of Time’ to learn about life in the outback. Journey in to the beautiful Flinders Ranges National Park where your accommodation for the next two nights is at Wilpena Pound. This Evening Watch the sunset drink in hand from Stokes Hills, which offers spectacular panoramic views of Wilpena Pound and the surrounding ranges.

Day 4: Flinders Ranges

With rugged mountain scenery, peaceful gorges and a huge array of wildlife and flora, the Flinders Ranges is a wonderful showcase of the Australian outback.

Enrich: In a 4WD, venture with your local guide to Wilpena Pound. Hear stories about this natural amphitheatre, used as ‘The Meeting Place’ by the Adnyamathanha people for tens of thousands of years, then as a natural enclosure by early pastoralists.

Day 5: Flinders Ranges - Barossa Valley

Explore the picturesque Clare Valley, one of the oldest wine regions in Australia and home to an emerging food scene. Between the wine regions of Clare and the Barossa you’ll visit Kapunda, a town with a rich and interesting history. Enjoy the panoramic views from your accommodation at the Barossa Valley for the next two nights.

Day 6: Barossa Valley

Spend the day discovering the Barossa Valley’s famous drop. Take a vineyard tour of the award winning Jacob’s Creek Winery. After lunch, appreciate the chance to try wine from the year of your birth at Seppeltsfield.

Day 7: Barossa Valley - Kangaroo Island

Visit the town of Hahndorf, settled by German immigrants, a lovely town where their influence is still visible everywhere. Try the local apple strudel made to a traditional German recipe. Continue to Cape Jervis where you’ll board the ferry for Kangaroo Island and make your way to Kingscote on the south side of the Island to your hotel, your accommodation for the next three nights.

Day 8: Kangaroo Island

Be inspired by the scenery today at Flinders Chase National Park. Admiral’s Arch and Remarkable Rocks are great photo opportunities. A special encounter awaits at Seal Bay, home to the third largest sea lion colony in Australia, where you’ll meet your conservation guide for a walk amongst the seals. If you are quiet you might even hear them talking.

Day 9: Kangaroo Island

Enrich: Tantalise your taste buds as your local epicurean guide introduces you to the magnificent tastes of Kangaroo Island – gourmet cheese, honey and wine, all unique to this amazing island.

Day 10: Kangaroo Island - Glenelg

Your ferry trip this morning will bring you back to the mainland. We head via McLaren Vale to Glenelg, a beachside suburb of Adelaide, where you will enjoy a Special Stay, providing you with a chance to reflect on your adventures over a farewell dinner.

Day 11: Glenelg - Depart Adelaide

It’s time to say goodbye to your new friends and the tastes of South Australia.

Coober Pedy, Lake Eyre & Birdsville

Immerse yourself in Coober Pedy and discover Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre from above and below. We traverse the iconic Oodnadatta and Birsdsville tracks, explore Flinders Ranges National Park and Wilpena Pound Ikara, then conclude in the Clare Valley.

Arrive in Adelaide and be transferred to your hotel. This evening, get to know your Tour Director and Driver-Guide as you enjoy a Welcome Drink and Dinner this evening.

Day 2: Adelaide, Port Wakefield, Wadlata Outback Centre, Port Augusta

Journey north to the coastal town of Port Wakefield in the Adelaide Plains. See the Snowtown Wind Farm, the second largest wind farm in Australia that can power over 200,000 Adelaide homes. Later, continue to Port Augusta and visit the award-winning Wadlata Outback Centre. A walk through its ‘Tunnel of Time’ provides the perfect introduction to this region.

Day 3: Port Augusta, Woomera, Glendambo, Coober Pedy

Drive to the town of Woomera, home to an Australian Defence Force base for the RAAF’s Test Range. Visit the Woomera National Aerospace and Missile Park before heading to Glendambo. Arrive later in Coober Pedy.

Day 4: Coober Pedy

Visit the Umoona Opal Mine and Museum. Later, head to Breakaways Reserve to admire its colourful low hills separated from the Stuart Range. This afternoon, enjoy an informative tour of a working opal mine.

Day 5: Coober Pedy, William Creek, Lake Eyre, Marree

Depart Coober Pedy after breakfast this morning and set off along the Oodnadatta Track towards Marree. Enjoy a pub lunch at William Creek and then board an included scenic flight over Lake Eyre and the incredible Anna Creek Painted Hills. Later, drive to the edge of Lake Eyre where you’ll walk on the dazzling salt flats.

Day 6: Marree, Birdsville Track

Travel along the iconic Birdsville Track, an isolated dirt road that traverses some of the most arid land in the country. Stop at Mungerannie Roadhouse, then cross the border into Queensland.

Day 7: Birdsville, Big Red

Travel to Big Red this morning, the first and biggest of the region’s red sand dunes that run for hundreds of kilometres. Afterwards, enjoy a visit to a number of local sights, including the famous racetrack and the billabong. Enjoy lunch at the Birdsville Bakery, where those feeling adventurous can sample a camel pie.

Day 8: Birdsville, Betoota Serpent, Burke and Wills Dig Tree, Innamincka

Travel to Betoota in the south-west corner of Queensland to see the enormous sculpture of an Indigenous Dreamtime serpent. After, visit the Burke and Wills Dig Tree, the location where their campsite once stood. Continue to the Innamincka Hotel, a welcoming waterhole.

Day 9: Innamincka, Strzelecki Track, Gammon Ranges National Park, Arkaroola

Today, travel the Strzelecki Track, an important road linking Innamincka and Lyndhurst. Stop at Gammon Ranges National Park, famed for its rugged ranges and deep gorges. Arrive later at Arkaroola in the heart of the Gammon Ranges National Park.

Day 10: Arkaroola, Wilpena Pound Ikara

Enter Flinders Ranges National Park, a cultural, historical and geological wonder renowned for its spectacular 800-million-year-old landscapes. Within the park, the famous Wilpena Pound Ikara, is cradled within an amphitheatre of mountains. Set amongst river red gums and native pines, Ikara Safari Camp is the perfect base for exploring Wilpena Pound National Park.

Day 11: Wilpena Pound Ikara, Flinders Ranges National Park

Spend the morning in the geological site of Brachina Gorge. Keep an eye out for the endangered Yellow-footed Rock-wallaby as you traverse the quartzite-ridged gorge, which was once used as a thoroughfare where bullock teams pulled their loads. This evening, enjoy dinner back at your safari camp, before retreating to your deck with relaxing vistas of the bush.

Day 12: Wilpena Pound, Clare Valley

Journey south through the picturesque world-renowned wine growing district of the Clare Valley. Arrive at your accommodation, which is situated right in the heart of this stunning region. This evening, sample some of the finest wine varieties from the Clare Valley while you enjoy a tasting plate of local produce. Afterwards, sit down to a Farewell Dinner.

Day 13: Clare Valley, Depart Adelaide

The time has come for you to farewell your Tour Director, Driver-Guide and new-found friends. After breakfast, make your return to Adelaide, where you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
