Guatemala Highlands

A little more leisurely discovery of the highlands of Guatemala and its traditional Maya culture. Glance at the traditional highland Indian market of Chichicastenango and visit lake Atitlan. Overnight in Antigua, the former Spanish-colonial capital, founded in 1543 at the foot of Agua Volcano and a center of art and culture for all the Americas. The Highlands region is an outstanding cultural universe. Its inhabitants, belonging to the Maya Kaqchiquel, Tzutujil, and Quiché groups, keep alive their cultures, the manifestations of which can be admired by the visitor.

Day 1: Arrive Guatemala CityMeet and assist at the airport and transfer to your hotel for check-in.
Day 2: ChichicastenangoLeave for Chichicastenango’s colorful open-air market and Church of Santo Tomas. Afternoon free for shopping or to see the town on your own.
Day 3: Lake AtitlanBreakfast. Continue to Solola to visit the Indian market. In the afternoon, continue to Lake Atitlan.
Day 4: AntiguaLaunch excursion to the lake-side village of Santiago Atitilan. Continue to Antigua.

Day 2: ChichicastenangoIn the morning transfer to the Archaeological Site of El Baul and La Democracia on the South Coast of Guatemala to visit both sites. In the afternoon transfer to Chichicastenango.
Day 3: QuetzaltenangoVisit the coloful open-air market and the Church of Santo Tomas. In the afternoon transfer for Quetzaltenango.

Heart of the Mundo Maya

A great tour for those who want to access Guatemala from Mexico (Cancun). Travel through the Peten rainforest and visit the imposing ruins of Tikal; Discover the smaller, but no less intriguing sites of Yaxha, Ceibal and Quirigua. In Honduras appreciate one of one of the grandest of all city-states: Copan, famed for its intricate sculptures and hieroglyphic stairway. Crossing the border back into Guatemala, transfer to Guatemala City for overnight before your transfer to the airport for your flight out.
