Gorilla Express: Fly-in Safari

This luxury camp is perched on the side of a mountain in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It is the ideal base for gorilla tracking and birding excursions in the park.

The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the natural habitat for just over half the world’s last surviving population of mountain gorillas. Gorilla tracking is a year-round activity.

Experienced guides will accompany you on your trek which commences every morning from the park and there is a daily maximum of 6 visitors to each gorilla group. Once gorillas are located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them.

Uganda in Focus

This 10-day safari from Entebbe visits the Mountain Gorillas in Uganda (Bwindi Impenetrable Forest) or Rwanda. Plus Chimpanzee trekking at both Kibale Forest and Chamburu Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Also Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary, game viewing and a boat cruise in the Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is ideal for bird watching and game!

Day 1: Entebbe

Arrive Entebbe, transfer to the Boma Hotel (or similar) for overnight, including breakfast. Afternoon visit to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary excursion*.
*Note: Ngamba Island trip is dependent on flight times and may be at the end of your itinerary.

Day 2: Lake Mburo

This morning, transfer to Entebbe Airport for flight to Bwindi. Transferred by road to Buhoma Lodge for overnight.

Day 3: Bwindi National Park

Be guided by experienced trackers onto the mountain slopes and spend time with a gorilla family.

Day 4: Gorilla Trek (pre-booked)

Optional second gorilla trek or forest walk in Bwindi.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Drive to Ishasha en route option to visit the Ishasha Communitiy Project.
Hotel: Ishasha Wilderness Camp, 2 nights

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy game viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Optional Chamburu Chimpanzee trekking.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Further game drives In the park & boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. Optional Chimpanzee trekking at Chamburu Gorge.

Day 8: Kibale Forest

Transfer to Kibale Forest Chimp Sanctuary. Two nights at the tented lodge. Optional afternoon forest walk.
