Best of Zambia
Be captivated by this outstanding wilderness experience in the South Luangwa, home of the ‘walking safari’. The area is widely considered one of Africa’s finest and most unspoiled wildlife reserves and it makes for an exciting contrast with the Lower Zambezi where you’ll see game from safari vehicles, get up close on foot and float gently past herds which frequent the river and its banks. Unspoilt natural beauty and abundant game make these two areas unparalleled for a wildlife adventure.

Day 1: Arrive Lusaka
An A&K welcome to the Zambian capital and transfer to your boutique hotel, where local artwork and colourful fabrics exude a creative vibe.
Hotel: Latitude Fifteen Degrees
Day 2: Lusaka – South Luangwa National Park
Fly to Mfuwe in the east of the country. You are met and transferred to Kaingo Camp, situated on the banks of the Luangwa River in the spectacular South Luangwa National Park, a vast reserve covering 9,050 km². Kaingo comprises six spacious chalets, each with thatched roofs, outdoor bath and private deck overlooking the wide river expanse.
Hotel: Kaingo Camp, 3 nights
Days 3 & 4: South Luangwa National Park
Two days to explore the magnificent South Luangwa. This world-renowned wildlife haven supports large populations of Thornicroft’s Giraffe, and herds of elephant and buffalo often several hundred strong. The vegetation too is diverse and keen spotters are rewarded with incredible sightings of lion, elephant, giraffe and any number of antelopes from bushbuck and puku to Greater Kudu and impala. Each day enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive with sundowners and a thrilling night drive. Or, as the South Luangwa is ‘home’ of the walking safari, head out on foot with your guide to see the bush from a different perspective.
Days 5: South Luangwa National Park
Transfer by road to the unparalleled luxury of Chinzombo Camp. Each of the six stunning villas offers panoramic views of the Luangwa River and the abundant wildlife that frequents its banks. Ancient shade trees and private plunge pools offer comfort and relaxation.
Hotel: Chinzombo Camp, 2 nights
Days 6: South Luangwa National Park
Explore one of the most game rich areas of the South Luangwa, renowned for its world-class predator action, with especially strong sightings of the elusive leopard. Enjoy game drives, safari walks and boat cruises (seasonal), or pamper yourself with an in-villa spa treatment during the midday break between safari activities.
Day 7: South Luangwa National Park – Lower Zambezi
Fly to the Lower Zambezi National Park, an area of stunning wilderness. Bed down at the luxurious Sausage Tree Camp, featuring five generously sized ‘Signature Tents’ with sliding teak doors opening onto private decks featuring private plunge pools, and views over an expanse of narrow channels and low-set reed islands, teeming with game. Discover the Lower Zambezi over the next two days.
Hotel: Sausage Tree Camp, 3 nights
Days 8: Lower Zambezi National Park
An early morning canoe safari is one of the most serene (and exciting) ways to explore the Zambezi River. A half day game drive will bring close encounters with elephant, buffalo, lion and possibly the endangered wild dog, and a guided walking safari will highlight the smaller creatures of the bush.
Days 9: Lower Zambezi National Park
