Day 01: Arrive Cape Town

Arrive in Cape Town where we’ll meet you on arrival and transfer you to your hotel, affectionately known as Mt Nellie. At the foot of the Table Mountain, and walking distance of Company’s Garden and restaurants, this exquisitely restored colonial hotel was painted pink over 100-years ago. Upon arrival, enjoy some time to settle in before savouring a warm welcome reception.

Day 02: Cape Town

A gateway to Cape Town’s past, you will stop at the Castle of Good Hope for a tour of this historic landmark. Afterwards, you will board the iconic aerial cableway to the top of Table Mountain, before embarking on your included sightseeing activity. Perhaps spend the afternoon at the Victoria & Alfred (V&A) Waterfront with a visit to the largest museumof contemporary African art in the world, the Zeitz Mocaa Museum, followed by a drink or afternoon tea at the Silo Hotel. Or, set off on a heritage tour where you will discover the neighbourhoods of Bo-Kaap and District Six. Maybe set out on a hike along the Camps Bay Pipe Track, which offers views above the gorgeous beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay. Tonight, enjoy a dinner at a local restaurant to savour Cape Town’s Fabulous food.

Day 03: Cape Town – Cape Peninsula

This morning, you will journey along the coastal Chapman’s Peak Drive to Cape Point. En route, take in the South African beach scenery, its quaint villages and the ‘tip’ of Africa, Cape Point, before continuing on to Simon’s Town for lunch. Nearby is Boulders Beach, where you might get the chance to see a colony of penguins, before returning to your hotel.

Day 04: Robben Island – Stellenbosch

This morning, meet with a former prison guard for a private tour at Robben Island. Originally assigned to guard Nelson Mandela, you will be moved by his stories of the island and the Maximum Security Prison where thousands of South African Freedom Fighters were incarcerated. It’s then onto the oak-shaded streets of Stellenbosch for the remainder of the day at the Lanzerac Hotel. Here, let the hotel’s tremendous history, character and charm unfold before you, upon the backdrop of magnificent mountains.

Day 05: Stellenbosch

Today you’ll explore Stellenbosch, and admire its Cape Dutch architecture and colonial history. Here you will indulge in its storied past, remarkable culture and inspiring artwork on a walking tour, before tasting traditional cuisines. You will enjoy the rest of the day at your estate, surrounded by mountains and wine farms, where you can relax or partake in the activities offered within the property.

Day 06: Cape Town – Kruger National Park

Today, fly to Kruger, before transferring to your private lodge within Kruger National Park. This evening, enjoy a round of sundowners as you soak up the African sunset, before dinner.

Day 07: Kruger National Park

Rise early today for your morning game drive with experienced trackers. It’s then back to your lodge for some time to relax before setting off on another game drive this afternoon. Your day ends with a boma dinner under the stars as you enjoy the sounds of the bush. This majestic setting provides a perfect conclusion to your incredible Kruger National Park experience.

Day 08: Kruger National Park – Johannesburg

Today, fly to Johannesburg, where you will stay overnight in preparation for you River safari in the morning.

Day 09: Chobe River – Embark Zambezi Queen

Today you will fly to Kasane in Botswana, then travel by coach and boat into Namibia where you will board your riverboat, the Zambezi Queen for two nights. From your perfect vantage point directly on the river that flourishes with life, you will enjoy incredible game safaris on the Chobe River.

Cruise: Chobe River, Zambezi Queen, 2 nights

Day 10: Chobe River

Prepare for a superb day of viewing animals on safari boat rides.

Day 11: Disembark Zambezi Queen – Chobe River + Livingstone

Disembark your riverboat and cross the border into Botswana then into Zambia. You will then be transferred to your hotel overlooking the Zambezi River, with direct access to Victoria Falls. Once you’ve checked in, relax at your hotel or take a leisurely walk to the falls.

Day 12: Livingstone

Today presents a vast selection of ways in which you could spend the day. You might like to embark on Chief Mukuni’s Village Cultural Tour then visit the Maramba Market. Day 13: Livingstone, Nairobi

Fly to Nairobi for your East Africa safari.

Take a flight to Lake Manyara in Tanzania and join our 4WD vehicles and continue to your lodge. Savour time at leisure before a round of sundowners, followed by dinner.

Day 15: Ngorongoro Crater

Today at the crater, you will stop for a picnic lunch, giving you time to take in the surrounds. Voted as one of the Seven Wonders of Africa, the crater’s high walls are a natural enclosure to vast numbers of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and lions, so make sure you have your camera ready to capture the abundant wildlife.

Day 16: Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara

Visit a local school and Maasai village, before a barbecue lunch and optional game drive through Manyara National Park.

Day 17: Olduvai Gorge – Serengeti National Park

Take in the spectacular, expansive views and watch out for wildlife, as you travel to Serengeti National Park. At Olduvai Gorge, also known as the Cradle of Mankind, enjoy a private tour of the earliest evidence of the existence of human ancestors.

Day 18: Serengeti National Park

The plains of Serengeti National Park are home to an incredible amount of animals. Rise early this morning for a game drive. Back at your lodge, enjoy some time to relax. Day 19: Serengeti National Park

A third day in the national park illuminates the opportunity to spy any animals that you may have missed on game drives yesterday.

Day 20: Serengeti National Park – Masai Mara

Board a light aircraft for your journey to Kenya, where you will take a picturesque flight to the Masai Mara. Shortly after arriving, head off-road through the savannah on your first game drive. Afterwards, retire to your tent retreat.

Day 21: Masai Mara

Wake to the sounds of the African bush. Later, enjoy the Masai Mara on morning and afternoon game drives through the private Mara conservancy.

Day 22: Masai Mara

Today is set aside for a game viewing of the Masai Mara Reserve. Otherwise, you might like to spend the day relaxing at camp, or watching resident hippos from your deck. This evening a traditional bush dinner is served within the incredible setting of the Masai Mara.

This morning, board your plane and fly from Cape Town to Kruger National Park, where you enter the private Ngala Reserve. Settle in to your accommodation and enjoy the scenery as you relax with sundowner drinks.

Day 5: Kruger National Park

Rise early before heading out on a morning game drive with experienced trackers. Fly to Kasane in Botswana, then travel by coach and boat into Namibia where you will stay on the banks of the Chobe in your own luxurious villa. Day 15: Tarangire National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

Depart Tarangire National Park after breakfast this morning. You’ll be staying close to the Ngorongoro Crater, which is the world’s largest inactive, and unfilled volcanic crater. This afternoon, perhaps take an included optional game drive through Lake Manyara National Park before enjoying some time to relax. Day 1: Arrive Nairobi (Kenya)

Welcome to Kenya. On arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. Tonight, relax and enjoy dinner at one of the two restaurants at your hotel (own expense).

Head for Amboseli National Park, arriving at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge in time for lunch. Located against the backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro and in the heart of this world-famous national park, the lodge offers you the perfect base from which to embark on your Kenyan safari. After lunch, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive to look for the Big Five as well as hippos and a variety of water fowl which can be found near the park’s wetlands. It is a truly incredible spectacle to see these animals free-ranging across the plains or wallowing in the swamps, all with Mt Kilimanjaro looming majestically in the background. Sundowner drinks at Observation Hill rounds out a perfect first game drive in Amboseli National Park. You’ll then return to the lodge for dinner.

Wake early then enjoy some tea and a snack in preparation for another exciting day. The morning takes you to a traditional village where you’ll interact with the Maasai to learn about their daily life. For this afternoon’s game viewing, your expert game driver/tracker will be on hand to ensure you get the best possible chances to see the animals of Kenya.

Take a short flight to Nairobi, then continue by 4WD to Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, arriving in time for lunch. The afternoon is all about wildlife spotting, with an afternoon game drive. You may also wish to take advantage of the lodge’s beautiful surrounds on a stunning nature walk around the property.

Bound by rocky escarpments and brimming with hordes of animals, a day of game drives at Lake Nakuru National Park offers yet another glimpse into life in Africa’s animal kingdom. Later, return to your lodge, where a delicious dinner awaits your taste buds.

Soak up the dramatic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley, which stretches from the Middle East all the way to Mozambique. Onwards to the Masai Mara, where vast open spaces provide excellent game viewing. At certain times of the year, you may see enormous herds of wildebeest, gazelle and zebra during the incredible Great Migration. This afternoon, head out on an exhilarating game drive.

Experience the beauty of an African sunrise and discover the morning rituals of the local wildlife accompanied with a light snack ahead of today’s first game drive. Afterwards, a delicious breakfast awaits before the rest of the morning at leisure. Transfer to the airstrip and board your scheduled flight to Nairobi. Be met by a bus on arrival at Nairobi, Kenya’s buzzing capital. You’ll then transfer to Arusha in Tanzania, with a packed picnic lunch to enjoy along the way. You’ll arrive at The Arusha Hotel, believed to be one of the oldest in East Africa, established in 1894 and now offering a touch of nostalgia balance with modern. Arusha lies in the shadow of Mount Meru, an active but dormant volcano and Tanzania’s second largest mountain next to the colossal Mt Kilimanjaro. Unwind and enjoy a free evening in and around your hotel.

Transfer to Arusha Airport for your flight into Serengeti National Park. You’ll be met on the ground by your driver guide for a game drive into the golden plains of the national park. Best known as a host to the epic Great Migration, the Serengeti is also famous for its predators who spend their days pursuing impalas, zebras, buffalo, gazelle and more. Arrive later at Kati Kati Tented Camp in the central Serengeti. Relax by the campfire before dinner, then retire to your tented room with an ensuite.

During morning and afternoon game drives, experience the wildlife of Etosha National Park. Within the desert, elephants, lions, giraffes and many breeds of birds congregate around the various waterholes. You may also spot zebras, cheetahs, leopards or black rhinos.

A third day in the national park illuminates the opportunity to see any animals that you may have missed on game drives yesterday.

Board a light aircraft for your journey to Kenya, where you will take a picturesque flight to the Masai Mara, home to the nomadic Maasai people who have lived here for centuries. Shortly after arriving, head off-road through the savannah on your first game drive. This is one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five, as well as cheetahs and hyenas. Take in the sounds of the bush at your tented camp, your home for the next three nights. Enjoy dinner before retiring for the evening.

Today, you will be given the opportunity to visit a local school. Afterwards, you will venture to a local Maasai village and enjoy a barbecue lunch before an optional game drive through Manyara National Park.

Board a light aircraft to the Masai Mara, home to the nomadic Maasai people who have lived here for centuries. A vast savannah dotted with trees, there’s hardly a place on Earth that resembles this land. On arrival, head off-road through the savannah on your first game drive. This is one of the best places in Africa to spot big game such as the Big Five, as well as cheetahs and hyenas. Day 1: Arrive Nairobi

Kickstart your African safari adventure in Kenya. Meet your Trafalgar Representative and embark on a 4×4 journey in your Toyota Landcruiser vehicle to your hotel. Spend the evening with your fellow explorers and your Kenya Driver Guide enjoying a delicious Welcome Reception at the world-famous Carnivore restaurant.

After lunch at the Home, you’ll continue your 4×4 journey to Aberdare National Park. Day 3: Solio Game Reserve Excursion

After early breakfast check out of the hotel then enjoy a sightseeing tour of Nairobi, offering you the opportunity to see the Nairobi City within a short time and discover Nairobi’s beauty and history. The tour includes Nairobi City Tour, visit to Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe centre, Karen Blixen museum and lunch in Nairobi. Day 3: Lake Naivasha

After breakfast travel to Lake Nakuru National Park which lies on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland. The park supports a wide ecological diversity including Flamingos and other water birds, and the Black and White Rhinoceros which are the major attractions of the park. Spend morning and afternoon on game drives then late afternoon drive back to your lodge for dinner. Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge or similar.

Day 4: Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast check out your hotel room and deposit your luggage for storage at the hotel reception, followed by choice of add on excursion, the morning boat safari excursion along Lake Naivasha, which offers a unique perspective on birdwatching and wildlife viewing in Kenya (It’s a add on excursion extra US$50.00 per person subject to change). At 10:00am we travel to Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving at the lunch time followed by afternoon for game drive. Day 5: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in this spectacular Masai Mara game reserve, all with superb photographic opportunities. Blessed with a permanent water supply, Masai Mara has a permanent population of plains game. The “Big Five” – Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard and Rhino are quite common. Dinner and overnight stay at your deluxe safari lodge Mara Serena Lodge Lodge or simila.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast we pack up and leave our lodge with a picnic lunch for the long drive from Masai Mara to Serengeti, crossing, the Kenya and Tanzania boader of Isebania and Serari where you will clear customs and Immigration, than proceed to Tanzania entering Serengeti National Park via Ndabaka or Fort Ikoma.

The park’s name, Serengeti, means ‘endless plains’ and is derived from the Masai language. The park lies in a high plateau between the Ngorongoro highlands and the Kenya and Tanzania border, only if the time permits short en-route game drive will be offered. Day 7: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast enjoy your Tanzania safari in the world famous wildlife sanctuary the Serengeti National Park. The largest National Park in Tanzania, is about 14,763 sq kms in area, in Tanzania. Summed up as ‘one of the most unique areas in the world. The Serengeti contains the largest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, on a scale, which has no parallel any where in the world. The abundance of herbivores includes Wildebeest, Zebra, Gazelle, Topi, Buffalo, and Hartebeest, to name but a few. Serengeti is also famous for Predators e.g. Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Hyena and contains a wide variety of birdlife, believed to be in the region of 500 species. Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast enjoy another game drive in Serengeti National Park with picnic lunch. Your safari guide will explore various areas Moro kopjes and Gol kopjes. The extensive grasslands are interspersed with Kopjes rocky outcrops like islands in the flat plain, each with their own wildlife communities. Discover the Seronera rivers flow through the park, providing habitats for a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles. Afternoon proceed to Nabi Hill date were you will enjoy your memorable picnic lunch, after we will proceed to Malanja depression entering Ngorongoro Conservation Area, proceed to the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge, with clouds rolling over the rim like a misty waterfall, the setting is dreamy. Today after breakfast, prepare yourself for Africa’s Eden, a 6 hour tour of Ngorongoro Crater. The concentration of animals means that you are likely to see several Lion in a short period of time. You descend 2,200 feet for a thrilling day among Africa’s Big Five Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Black Rhino and Leopard, before arriving at your lodge,  Lake Manyara Serena Lodge or similar.

Day 10: Lake Manyara

After breakfast, visit Lake Manyara National Park which is one of the finest parks in Tanzania. Day 11: Amboseli National Park

After breakfast we pack up and leave our lodge with a picnic lunch for long drive transfer. Depart Lake Manyara and proceed to the City of Arusha which is a centre point of Cape to Cairo. Continue the journey to Namanga boarder, the crossing point between Tanzania and Kenya border of Namanga where you will clear customs and Immigration procedure for Kenya. Enter Amboseli National Park which is situated at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro (19,430 ft) at around late afternoon , we will continue with en-route game drives towards to our lodge only if the time permits. Amboseli is famous for its vast herds of Elephants and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge Amboseli Serena Lodge or similar.

Day 12: Depart Nairobi

After breakfast enjoy your final morning game drive then return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch proceed to Nairobi where the safari ends.

Tanzania Highlights

Tanzania Highlights, a journey with lots of contrast from the game enriched plains of the famous Serengeti to the salt pans of Lake Manyara. Day 1: Arrive Arusha

On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Arusha.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Spend the morning at leisure. After lunch meet your driver/guide for a briefing and drive in 4X4 safari vehicle into Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Get the adventure started with a drive down the steep valley (about 600m) to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is known for its unusual sights including the rare black rhinos. After spending the full day in the crater, with a packed lunch, you will return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast you will travel to the Serengeti National Park, with a stop enroute at Ol’Duvai Gorge. Here in the ‘cradle of mankind’ the skull of a human being was found which is believed to be the oldest ever discovered.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park

Enjoy a full day of quality African safari time in the Serengeti National Park. Home to a vast array of Tanzania’s wildlife, there will be plenty of opportunities to see the ‘Big Five’, but to increase your chances a picnic lunch is provided so you won’t have to look away for a second!

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park

This morning travel through the Serengeti National Park one final time on a morning game drive. Journey on to Lake Manyara where you enjoy dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 7: End of Tanzania Highlights Tour

Enjoy a morning game drive in the Lake Manyara National Park, the home of the so-called ‘Tree Lions’, before driving back to Arusha. After lunch you will be transferred back to either Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward journey.

This morning is a private walking tour of the Old Stone Town, with its winding alleyways, bustling bazaars and grand Arab houses. Visit the site of the slave market at the Anglican Cathedral, the House of Wonders and a former residence of Dr. Livingstone. Later, visit a spice farm to learn about the cultivation of the various spices before transferring to your beach resort.

Days 3 & 4: Zanzibar Beach

Spend two days here enjoying the turquoise blue Indian Ocean lapping at powdery white sands. A variety of water sports is available plus biking, cultural activities and spa treatments.
