Day 1: Arrive Kuching

Full day visiting Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre for Orang-utans and the historical waterfront city of Kuching with lunch at the local restaurant.

Day 2: Bako National Park

Visit Bako Village and travel by motorised boat along the coast to Bako National Park.

Day 3: Kuching – Miri

Visit the award-winning Sarawak Cultural Village, a unique ‘living museum’. After lunch, transfer to the airport for your flight to Miri. Arrive at Miri Airport, followed by transfer to the hotel for check-in. In the evening, transfer to a local restaurant for dinner.

Day 4: Miri – Lambir National Park

Visit a traditional Iban longhouse and Lambir Hills National Park. Overnight in Miri.

Day 5: Miri – Mulu National Park

Fly to Mulu National Park and experience Mulu’s tropical rainforest. Overnight in Mulu.

Day 6: Mulu National Park

Travel by longboat and visit a tribal Penan settlement and Clearwater Cave. Overnight in Mulu.

Day 7: Mulu National Park

Return to Miri by air and tour concludes.

The Really Wild Tour

Located on the banks of the Kinabatangan River, Borneo Nature Lodge is nestled among tropical surroundings and abundant wildlife. All the spacious rooms are air-conditioned and overlook the tropical greenery. In honour of the indigenous people, many of the decorative items in the rooms are authentically handmade, supporting local communities. The lodge also has a restaurant giving you the choice to dine indoors or al fresco. Daily activities include river cruises, jungle trekking, bird watching, night walks, village walks, tree planting, cave exploring and fishing. Day 1: Sandakan – Sukau

0800-0810 hours – pick up from hotel in Sandakan or meet upon arrival at the Sandakan Airport.  Drive for about 30 minutes to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre where orphaned and injured Orangutan brought to Sepilok to be rehabilitated to return and fend for themselves back to the wild. Sepilok is a primary lowland forest; a fine showcase of Borneo’s remaining rainforest. Witness the 1000 hours feeding of Orang Utan from a platform in the forest and watch the 25 minutes scheduled video documentary show. Drive for about 2 ½ hours drive through rustic countryside studded with villages. Take a short boat transfer to Borneo Nature Lodge. Time for orientation, have lunch and check in. Relax by the river before embarking by boat up-river at 1600 hours along Sabah’s longest river, Kinabatangan with opportunity to view wildlife the birds in its virgin rainforest habitat. Search for some of the primates species including the endemic Proboscis Monkeys as they settle down on treetops. Kinabatang Wildlife Sanctuary is on the best places in Southeast Asia to observe wildlife.

Day 2: Sukau

Wake up to the calls of birds, insects and animals.Take an early morning cruise up to The Kinabatangan River and onto Kelenanap Ox-Bow Lake for bird watching and in search of other wildlife. Take a short jungle walk (if weather permits) and experience the wilderness of Borneo before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Free at leisure to explore the surrounding areas or nearby village. In the late afternoon at 1600 hours, boat
cruise along the river to see many species of flora and fauna of the rainforest.

Note: Optional tour e.g. Night Cruise, Night Walk & Tree Planting can be arranged at the lodge with minimal rates depends on the weather condition (Optional night activities starts at 2000 hours)

Day 3: Sukau – Lahad Datu

After breakfast, early morning transfer to Lahad Datu town. Proceed to the Borneo Nature Tours office for registration and briefing 0900 hours. Depart for 2 ½ hours overland journey on gravel road to Danum Valley Borneo Rainforest Lodge. This is the largest protected area of lowland dipterocarp rainforest in Sabah. Covering 43800 hectares 1200 hours. Arrive at Borneo Rainforest Lodge. Be welcomed by an exotic “Welcome Drink” while the Front Office personnel brief you on the facilities available at the lodge. Check in and
lunch at the lodge.

1430 hours Slide presentation at Conference Room
1500 hours Afternoon Trek: Introduction to the forest through “Nature Trails” and tree top “Canopy Walkway” 300m in length and 26m at the highest point, for a close-up observation of the rainforest
1900 hours Dinner at the lodge
2030 hours Night Drive in an open-top vehicle in search of nocturnal animal.

Hotel: Borneo Rainforest Lodge, 2 nights

Day 4: Danum Valley Borneo Rainforest Lodge
0700 hours Breakfast at the lodge
0900 hours Morning Jungle Trek: Trek to the Kadazandusun burial site – “Coffin Cliff” before proceed to “View Point” for a bird’s eye view of the area. Descend to the “Jacuzzi Pool” for a refreshing dip.
1230 hours Lunch at the lodge
1500 hours Afternoon Jungle Trek or go for a relaxing session of “tubing” down the Danum River.
1900 hours Dinner at the lodge
2030 hours Night Walk in search of nocturnal animals.
Day 5: Danum Valley Borneo Rainforest Lodge – Lahad Datu
0700 hours Breakfast at the lodge. Guests at own leisure
1200 hours Lunch at the lodge
1330 hours Check out and depart for 2 ½ hours drive to Lahad Datu Airport

Mulu Cave Experience

Mulu Cave National Park is one of Sarawak’s principal National Parks. With one of the most spectacular limestone cave systems in the world.

Day 1: Arrive Mulu

Upon arrival Mulu Airport, meet and greet by our friendly representative and transfer to Mulu Marriott Resort & Spa for check in. Afternoon, meet at resort lobby and transfer to Mulu National Park headquarters. Upon registration and proceed on plank walk for 3 Km to reach Deer Cave & Lang Cave. After exploring the caves, proceed to bats observatory to observe bats flying out of caves entrance at late evening (Onlyconfine to fine weather). Return journey on the same plank walk to park headquarters and transfer back to resort. Dinner & overnight at resort.

Hotel: Mulu Marriott Resort & Spa, 2 nights

Day 2: Mulu

Breakfast at resort and transfer by longboat proceed to Batu Bungan -Penan Settlement, to observe the tribe lifestyle and to select handicrafts on display for sale at Penan Settlement. Continue journey by longboat to Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave. Picnic lunch at Clearwater summer huts and later on you can enjoy swimming at Clearwater spring. After lunch, return transfer by longboat to resort. Dinner & overnight at resort.

Day 3: Depart Mulu

Breakfast at resort & free at own leisure until transfer to Mulu airport for flight departure.
