Day 1: Fremantle – Geraldton

Today you’ll meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers for your journey to Geraldton. Heading north to Yanchep National Park, you’ll enjoy a fantastic Aboriginal Cultural Experience in a bush setting. Meet your entertaining Indigenous guide Derek Nannup, a local Nyoongar man, who’ll share with you their way of life and will treat you to the enchanting sounds of the didgeridoo. It’s a hands-on experience where you’ll have the chance to touch and feel traditional Aboriginal tools. Continue to Nambung National Park, home of the marvellous Pinnacles, a series of intriguing limestone formations. On arrival in Geraldton, you’ll visit the evocative HMAS Sydney Memorial and have time on your own to discover the seaside township.

Day 2: Geraldton – Monkey Mia

Travel to the crystal blue waters and pristine white shell and sandy beaches of Monkey Mia, in the UNESCO World Heritage listed Shark Bay Marine Park. The afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps take an optional experience scenic flight over Shark Bay Marine Park or a wildlife cruise aboard a catamaran to spot sea creatures great and small. This evening, sit back with a cocktail or cool beer and watch the world go by as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean.

Day 3: Monkey Mia – Kalbarri

Every morning, Monkey Mia’s wild dolphins swim to shore to be fed. After a leisurely breakfast overlooking the calm waters of the bay, watch the famous dolphins swim into shore (as dolphins are wild their appearance cannot be guaranteed). Visit fascinating Shell Beach, one of only two in the world, formed from billions of coquina bivalve shells up to ten metres deep. Later, travel to Hamelin Pool to see the world’s best known colony of Stromatolites. Dating back to the beginning of life on earth, while they may not appear alive, these living structures have helped scientists unravel the history of life on earth! Venture into Kalbarri National Park to view the spectacular scenery of Murchison River Gorge from a perfect vantage point. Another exciting day in the search for wildflowers as you head west and discover small towns like Mullewa. This area is a hotspot for stunning displays of everlastings and flowering shrubs, along roadsides and in the surrounding nature reserves. Following the coastline towards Perth, you’ll visit Nambung National Park to wander through the famous Pinnacles. These amazing natural limestone structures, some standing as tall as five metres, were formed thousands of years ago after the sea receded and left deposits of seashells. Over time, coastal winds removed the surrounding sand, leaving the pillars exposed to the elements. This evening in Perth, join your Travel Director and fellow wildflower lovers for a Farewell Dinner.

West Coast Explorer

Prepare to experience some truly captivating landscapes on this in-depth West Coast Explorer of Western Australia’s coastline. Get up close to the eerie limestone Pinnacles, meet the friendly dolphins of Monkey Mia and snorkel in unspoilt Ningaloo Reef. This epic adventure also includes visits to Karijini National Park and the mining towns of Newman and Port Hedland.

Day 1: Arrive Perth

Arrive in Perth and be transferred to your hotel. Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner.

Day 2: Nambung National Park, The Pinnacles, Kalbarri National Park

Travel to Nambung National Park, a striking coastal desert region, home to the unique limestone Pinnacles. Later continue to Kalbarri National Park.

Day 3: Wooleen Station

Western Australia is blanketed in stunning pink, white and yellow Everlasting Daisies from July to October. Journey through the mid-west ‘Wildflower Way’. Arrive at Wooleen Station, where you will learn about the incredible story of the property as you enjoy a tour of this former sheep and cattle station. At dusk, capture a stunning sunset from this magical part of the world.

Day 4: Shark Bay, Monkey Mia

This morning, journey along the Butchers Track to the stunning coastline where World Heritage-listed Shark Bay lies. This westernmost part of Australia has a unique combination of stunning scenery and amazing flora and fauna, unlike that found anywhere else in Australia. Later, continue to Monkey Mia.

Day 5: Monkey Mia

See the wild dolphins of Monkey Mia. Watch as local rangers undertake a dolphin feeding demonstration (subject to appearance). The perhaps explore pristine white sand beaches during time at leisure. Enjoy a sunset cruise before a seafood dinner at your resort.

Day 6: Hamelin Pool, Shell Beach, Carnarvon

Today, head to Hamelin Pool to see the stromatolites, which are considered the world’s oldest living organisms. Enjoy a stop at Shell Beach then continue to Carnarvon on the Gascoyne River.

Day 7: Ningaloo Marine Park, Exmouth

Travel to World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Marine Park and join a cruise aboard a glass bottom boat at Coral Bay. Enjoy the opportunity to snorkel on this unspoilt reef in warm crystal-clear waters. Beneath the surface, you’ll find dugongs, dolphins, manta rays, and more than 500 species of fish. Marine playgrounds really don’t get much better than this.

Day 8: Exmouth, Cape Range National Park, Turquoise Bay

Explore Cape Range National Park as you board a cruise through the gorge walls of Yardie Creek. Admire the plethora of wildlife, the deep waters and the dramatic red limestone cliff faces. Make a stop in Turquoise Bay, voted as one of the best beaches in the world. Later, visit the Vlamingh Head Lighthouse on your way back to the resort for dinner.

Day 9: Karijini National Park

This morning, travel to Karijini National Park, Western Australia’s second largest national park. Continue to your beautiful eco retreat in Karijini National Park, nestled in the pristine bushland near Joffre Gorge, a magnificent curved waterfall that has formed a natural amphitheatre. Here, enjoy dinner before getting some much-needed rest before tomorrow’s exploration.

Enjoy a full day to discover the contrasting landscapes of Karijini National Park where a vast range of flora and fauna thrives. See the rugged red beauty of Dales Gorge. Perhaps walk to stunning Joffre Falls, located near the eco retreat, or admire the rich red colours from Oxer and Junction Pool lookouts. Later, visit the 20-metre tumbling Fortescue Falls.

Day 11: Karijini National Park, Mt Whaleback Mine, Newman

Explore the Pilbara mining region as you take a tour of Mt Whaleback Mine today. Hear the latest up-to-date information about the current mining projects at the world’s largest open cut iron ore mine. Afterwards, arrive at your hotel for dinner.

Day 12: Marble Bar, Port Hedland

Travel to Marble Bar via Nullagine, a town that takes its name from the local Indigenous name for the river that runs through its centre. Marble Bar is infamously known as the hottest town in Australia. The town received its name after a stunning formation of jasper which settlers mistook for a huge bar of marble. Later, arrive at Port Hedland, a mining town renowned for its extensive exportation of iron ore.

Day 13: Port Hedland, Eco Beach

Stop at the famous Eighty Mile Beach, a stunning coastline that marks the end of the Great Sandy Desert. Keep an eye out for the migratory birds that call the wetland area home. Continue to Ramada Eco Beach Resort and enjoy a relaxed dinner this evening.

Day 14: Broome

Travel to Broome today and check in to the iconic Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa. The rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure before a final farewell dinner this evening.
