Day 1: London – Bruges

Leave the White Cliffs of Dover behind for the golden fields of France and Belgium, travelling to medieval Bruges. Explore its canals, lined with centuries-old gabled houses before joining your Travel Director and travel companions for a Welcome Reception including dinner and drinks in beautiful surrounds. We stay overnight in one of Trafalgar’s ‘Stays With Stories’ – a former 17th-century monastery with historical features.

Journey through the Dutch countryside to captivating Amsterdam, see the city’s iconic sights from the comfort of a canal boat. This evening, we’ll ‘Connect With Locals’ during a ‘Be My Guest’ dinner at the Pauw family dairy farm.

Day 3: Amsterdam – Rhine Cruise – Heidelberg – Rhineland

We travel to Germany, arriving at Boppard where we board a Rhine cruise past hilltop castles. Admire the magnificent ruined sandstone castle in Heidelberg overlooking the Neckar River en route to your Rhineland hotel where you’ll dine this evening.

Day 4: Rhineland – Black Forest – Rhine Falls – Lucerne

Journey through romantic Black Forest landscapes today – tales of the Brothers Grimm are your constant companion as you continue through southwest Germany to the Swiss border. See Lucerne’s poignant Lion Monument this morning. We follow the scenic Arlberg Pass through the Tyrol to Innsbruck, the capital of the Alps where we will see the ornate Golden Roof during an orientation tour. Day 7: Innsbruck – Salzburg – Vienna

Salzburg’s extraordinary natural beauty has inspired musical greats and epic films. This evening, we arrive in the beautiful Baroque city of Vienna, our home for the next two nights.

Day 10: Venice

‘Dive Into Culture’ and witness the centuries-old Venetian tradition of glassmaking. Day 12: Assisi – Pompeii – Sorrento

Day 13: Sorrento – Isle of Capri – Rome

Cross the enchanting blue water of the Bay of Naples to the Isle of Capri and ascend to Capri by funicular railway where you will join a ‘Local Specialist’ for a guided walking tour of the town. Spend a leisurely afternoon soaking up la dolce vita in the piazza before sailing back to the mainland. This evening we arrive in Rome, the Eternal City, where we will spend the next two nights.

Day 14: Rome – Vatican Experience

Spend the rest of the day at your leisure admiring the work of great masters in the Uffizi Gallery, climbing the stone steps to Piazzale Michelangelo for iconic views, or relaxing in the Boboli Gardens.

Day 16: Florence – Pisa – Monaco – French Riviera

We drive to the city of Pisa and its Square of Miracles to see the famous Leaning Tower which bears this city’s name. From Italy to the sun-kissed landscapes of the French Riviera, we stop in the sophisticated Principality of Monaco before continuing to the French Riviera, our home for the next two nights. Enjoy an orientation drive along the scenic Promenade des Anglais, which for centuries has attracted sun-worshipping aristocrats to its shores, and see Place Massena before spending the evening at leisure.

Day 17: French Riviera – St. Paul De Vence Excursion

Day 1: London – Paris

Leaving the bright city lights of London behind us, we cross the English Channel by ferry from Dover to Calais, travelling across the World War I battlefields w here so many brave souls lost their lives. We catch a glimpse of the Canadian Memorial at Vimy Ridge before arriving in Paris. Later, we join our Travel Director and travel companions for a Welcome Reception including dinner and drinks and an evening drive to embrace the energy of this vibrant city.

Day 2: Paris

Join a ‘Local Specialist’ for a drive along the Champs Élysées to the Arc de Triomphe and view the Eiffel Tower. View Notre Dame Cathedral and enjoy a stroll through the Latin Quarter. Day 25: Rhineland – Cologne – Amsterdam

Admire the tall twin Gothic spires of the Cologne Cathedral this morning, before crossing into the Netherlands and on to Amsterdam where we spend the next two nights. Sit under the leafy canopy at Leidseplein indulging in Dutch beer and kroketten, hire a bike and hit the city’s tree-lined streets or bask in the warm glow and gezelligheid of one of the city’s renowned bruin cafés.

Day 26: Amsterdam

Enjoy an orientation of Amsterdam and spend the rest of the day exploring the city on foot, by bike or tram. Day 15: Kalambaka – Delphi – Athens

We cross the fertile Thessaly region and see the battle site at Thermopylae, where the heroic Leonidas and brave Spartans battled against the invading Persians. We arrive at the centre of the world and Mount Parnossos, joining a ‘Local Specialist’ to explore the ancient sanctuary of Delphi and seat of the most important oracle in the ancient classical world. Wander through the centuries-old ruins of the Sacred Way to the 5th-century Temple of Apollo and marvel at the site where athletes once competed in the Pythian Games held in honour of Apollo and the Arts. We arrive in Athens this evening.

Soak up the sights, sounds and smells of the bustling Central Market this morning. Maybe admire the remarkable antiquities and remnants of Ancient Greece at the fascinating Acropolis Museum or wander through the colourful stalls of Monastiraki Square.

Day 19: Athens Sightseeing – At Sea

Travel to the heart of ancient Athens, back to a time of philosophers and great thinkers. Join a ‘Local Specialist’ to marvel at the ancient Acropolis, see the Parthenon, dedicated to the goddess Athena, and view the stadium where the first modern Olympic Games took place in 1896. We cross the Corinth Canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea and board our overnight ferry in Patras en route to Italy.

Learn about the quality and workmanship of one of this city’s historic industries at a demonstration of Florentine leathercraft.

Day 25: Florence – Engelberg

Travel north across the snow-capped Alps into Switzerland, past beautiful Lake Lugano, continuing along the scenic St. Gotthard route into central Switzerland. We spend the next two nights in the popular winter sports resort town of Engelberg.

Day 26: Lucerne

The lakeside setting of Lucerne is ours to explore today. Pay tribute to the brave Swiss Guard at the Lion Monument and admire the wooden Chapel Bridge with its exquisite ceiling. Back to the present, you’ll enjoy an orientation drive of culture-rich Naples before arriving in Rome.
