Day 1: Arrive in Lisbon, Portugal

Soak up the Capital Sights. Time to dive in and explore this capital city-easy to navigate, both on foot and with public transport. Feel free to get started enjoying Lisbon’s highlights. Hop on a ride on Tram number 28, see the Belem Tower, or take the Santa Justa Lift. Simply tap your CosmosGO app for directions and suggestions, or find a relaxing spot to soak up the rich Portuguese culture. Your Tour Director will be available in the early evening to provide suggestions on how to make the most of your time throughout your tour.

Day 2: Lisbon – Food, Glorious Food

Today, we offer the option to join us on a guided walking tour of the city, with insight into life in Lisbon in the past and in the present. if you are passionate about food, you’ll want to purchase an evening culinary experience to learn how to prepare some traditional Portuguese delicacies and the fine art of enjoying them in good company. Myaccount makes it easy to secure your reservation for optional activities.

Day 3: Lisbon – A Little Night Music

Now that Lisbon has captured your heart, enjoy another full day to discover more! There are countless museums to visit, quaint cafes for lingering, or how about a romantic boat trip on the Tagus river? if you prefer to venture out into the landscapes, we suggest you join our optional excursion to Evora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At day’s end, celebrate with Lisbon’s exciting nightlife, maybe listening to passionate live fado music.

Day 4: Lisbon — Obidos — Coimbra

Learning from the Locals. Leaving the capital, we follow the Atlantic coast to stop in charming Obidos, a labyrinth of cobbled streets surrounded by medieval fortress walls. Later, we head to Coimbra, known for its historical university, still attracting students from around the world. This university town makes for lively nightlife, with many bars and restaurants.

Day 5: Coimbra — Porto

A Life of Art-A Love of Wine. Porto’s connection with Port wine is undeniable, but that’s just one aspect of this colourful city. Built on the banks of the Douro River, it’s been an inspiration for art and culture for centuries; from traditional azulejos to graffiti, you’ll see evidence of its artistic history around every corner. We recommend our optional walking tour with a local guide, highlighting the twists, turns, and secrets of this fascinating city, including a sample of its gastronomic delicacies and a wine tasting session.

Day 6: Porto – Creative Arts and the River of Gold

Take advantage of your time in Porto to explore the city your way. Your Tour Director is on hand with suggestions, and your CosmosGO app shows you the way. Walk the Ribeira District, the oldest of the city, a labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets, ancient houses and bags of character, take a boat tour on the Douro river or join an optional excursion. Enjoy the city’s buzzing nightlife, or a local meal in a restaurant overlooking the river.

Day 7: Porto

Your tour ends with breakfast this morning.

Lisbon, Seville & Madrid

Your exciting Iberian adventure introduces you to fascinating cities and cultural discoveries on your affordable tour of Spain and Portugal. You’ll stay three nights in Madrid, two nights in both Seville and Lisbon, and one night in Coimbra.

Day 1: Arrive in Madrid, Spain

Check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free to start exploring lively Madrid. Tonight, meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers.

Day 2 Madrid – Ávila – Salamanca – Coimbra, Portugal

Visit fortified Avila with its intact medieval city walls, then on to Salamanca. Be sure to spend some time wandering around Salamanca’s Plaza Mayor, considered the most beautiful square in Spain. Journey into the valley of the Serra da Estrela on your way to Coimbra in Portugal.

Day 3: Coimbra – Fátima – Obidos – Lisbon

Enjoy an orientation tour of Coimbra, strategically situated on a hill overlooking the Mondego River. Continue to Fatima to visit the SANCTUARY, a famous pilgrimage site where the Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children-Francisco, Jacinth, and Lucia-on May 13, 1917. On to Obidos, a fortified city still flanked by towers and bastions overlooking the countryside dotted with windmills. Overnight in Lisbon.

Day 4: Lisbon

Henry the Navigator made Lisbon the 15th-century “Mistress of the Seas.” You’ll see his monument, the Belem Tower, the Moorish Citadel, the impressive Black Horse Square, and other highlights on your guided city tour. Spend the afternoon at leisure in the Alfama’s tile-decorated streets, or discover the Portuguese Riviera by joining our optional excursion.

Day 5: Lisbon – Seville, Spain

Drive into the Alentejo through the countryside, famous for its cork production. Cross the border at Vila Verde into Spain and journey into Andalusia, enjoying quite different scenery as you skirt the Sierra de Aracena on your way to delightful Seville.

Day 6: Seville

Seville is one of Spain’s most colourful and vibrant cities. Enjoy an included sightseeing tour with all the main highlights, including the iconic Plaza de Espana.

Day 7: Seville – Cordoba – Madrid

Travel to Cordoba, Spain’s most Moorish city with its Mezquita, which is rightly known as one of islam’s greatest pieces of architecture outside the Arab world. On through the very heart of La Mancha, famed for its castles and windmills, to Madrid. This evening, why not join the optional Traditional tapas dinner and highlights of Madrid?

Day 8: Madrid

Enjoy free time in Madrid, or join the fascinating optional trip to Toledo. The splendid setting of this old walled city above the Tagus River was made famous in El Greco’s painting-even now, it’s like a great open-air museum of Spanish history and art. Later, join the included Madrid city sightseeing. As the capital of Spain and situated 2,180 feet above sea level, the Spaniards call Madrid the nearest thing to Heaven.

Day 9: Depart Madrid
