Day 1: Volcanoes National Park
On arrival at Kigali Airport you will be met and driven the short distance to Gisozi Genocide Memorial. Visit the moving and emotional memorial of the one million people killed in the 1994 genocide in Rwanda.
Afterwards you will be transferred by road to your lodge, perched high on a ridge with stunning views of the Virunga Volcanoes and the twin lakes Bulera and Ruhonda. This is a road journey of approximately three hours over rolling hills on a comfortable paved road. Relax and take in the beautiful mountain views.
Day 2: Kigali
The Gorilla Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda offers one of the best locations for gorilla trekking with 10 habituated gorilla groups that you can trek to see. Starting in the cultivated land at the base of the volcanoes, the trek normally lasts a few hours. Depart after an early breakfast to Park Headquarters for the gorilla trekking formalities and briefing. The group (maximum 8 people), travel to the forest edge and commence trekking through the thick forest to see these magnificent creatures. The walking is quite steep but not overly strenuous. After spending an hour with the gorillas return to your lodge for lunch. After lunch you will be met and transferred to your Kigali hotel.
Day 3: End of Rwanda Tour
