With its rich history, natural beauty and heritage it is definitely worth a visit as you step back to a time to when things were not as rushed and as hectic as today.

Day 1: Chiang Mai – Lampang – Phrae

This morning depart from Chiang Mai to Phrae. Stop in the town of Lampang and visit the unseen ancient city by horse drawn carriage to discover Buddhist Temples and the town’s Rooster Statue which you will pass along the way. The horse & carriage is a traditional mode of transportation in Lampang and it is a wonderful way to get around to see the town. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Afterwards we continue our journey to the attractive town of Phrae, here we discover traditional Thai architecture in the form of charming teak houses and eclectic shimmering temples which date back to 19th century. Visit Wat Phra Non with its revered reclining Buddha and Vongburi House, an attractive teak house museum located in the heart of the old town. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 2: Phrae – Nan

Start your day in Phrae and visit Wat Phra That Cho Hae, a royal temple built during the Sukhothai period in the reign of King Maha Dhamaracha (Lithai). Regarded as one of the most sacred and ancient temples in Phrae, it is renowned locally for people who are born in the year of the Tiger. It’s good luck to pray at this temple for good fortune. Heading north we continue onto Phae Muang Phi Forest Park known locally as the “City of Ghosts”. The rocks in the park over the years have formed into spectacular natural rock formations. These nomadic tribal people live in the jungle which covers a large part of Nan and neighbouring Phrae Province. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Early afternoon we will arrive into Nan to explore and stroll around its city centre. Visit Phumin Temple and Nan National Museum, view the murals in Wat Phumin, which were renowned throughout the country. In the evening, enjoy the stunning panoramic views out over Nan. On the hill top at Wat Phra That Khao Noi see the towering Buddha statue which overlooks the downtown and the surrounding areas. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 3: Nan – Bo Kluea

After breakfast, we depart to explore Bo Klua known as Ban Bo Luang. Here we can observe traditions from the past which are still employed today. The people of Ban Bo Luang produce use salt from the brine which they collect from two mountain wells located 1,900 meters above sea level. Afterwards we drive directly to your hotel in Bo Klua, where lunch will be served. The afternoon is at leisure for you to explore the town at your own pace. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 4: Nan – Nong Bua – Phayao – Chiang Rai

After breakfast visit the village of Nong Bua to see the beautiful temple of Nong Bua, with its stunning Thai Lue murals. Visit the local cooperative silk and cotton weaving sheds run by the local women’s group to see crafts being handmade in traditional methods. Afterwards we hit the road for Chiang Rai which is approximately a 4-5 hours journey with stops along the way. We will stop at the magnificent lake in Phayao for lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch why not take a short stroll around the lakes, promenade to take in the view of the lake and surrounding areas. In the afternoon, we visit Oub Kham home collection – a museum to see a collection of objects from areas once belonging to the Lanna Kingdom. Transfer to your hotel in Chiang Rai or fly to your next destination.
