This morning, we ascend to the top of Victoria Peak, taking the funicular railway which has ferried visitors up to the 373-metre summit since 1888. Admire the iconic views over Victoria Harbour and the lush hills that loom beyond glittering skycrapers. Our City Tour continues to Aberdeen Fishing Village where we’ll ‘Dive Into Culture’ and embark on a sampan ride for insights into the lives of the fishermen who live and work on their boats. Next, we’ll indulge in a steaming Dim Sum lunch on board the famous Jumbo Floating Restaurant, favoured by international celebrities and dignitaries. Then it’s time for some bargain hunting Hong Kong-style as we venture to Stanley Market, one of Hong Kong’s oldest settlements. Strolling along its promenade and past stalls laden with memorabilia, clothes and other trinkets, it will be hard to imagine its colourful past as a pirate and smugglers’ haunt. We’ll return to our hotel later, enjoying an evening at leisure to immerse ourselves in the vibrant nightlife of Hong Kong.

Day 3: Hong Kong – Macau – Hong Kong

The dazzling playground of Macau takes centre stage today as we board a high-speed ferry bound for its glitz and glamour. On arrival, we’ll meet our ‘Local Specialist’ who will accompany us throughout the day and reveal how 400 years of Portuguese colonial rule have made their mark on the culture and cuisine of this Chinese territory. We’ll drive along the Guia Circuit (Grand Prix Race Track) and see the golden statue of Kun Lam, the Goddess of Mercy before stopping at the 15th century Taoist A-Ma Temple dedicated to the Chinese Sea Goddess. Legend has it that Portuguese sailors named the enclave A-Ma-Gao to thank her for saving their ship in a storm. We continue to Macau Tower, ascending to its Observation Deck for panoramic views of the Macau cityscape, China, the Pearl River and even some islands of Hong Kong on a clear day. After lunch, we’ll visit the intricately carved stone façade that is all that remains of St. Paul’s. Day 1: Arrive In Casablanca, Morocco

Check into your hotel. Later, meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers.

Hotel: Novotel Casablanca City Centre

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fez

A short ride along the coast to Rabat, once a lair of the corsairs and now the country’s capital. Sightseeing includes the Royal Palace, Hassan Tower, and the Kasbah of Oudayas. You’ll be reminded of the time when Morocco was the Roman province of Mauretania as you visit the fine Roman Relics of Chellah and its gardens. Continue to Meknes. During your guided tour, see its monumental gates, mosque, palace, and miles of protective walls. Visit its Royal Stables, originally built to house 12,000 of the royal horses. Travel east towards Fez, Morocco’s most enchanting city.

Hotel: Menzeh Zalagh, 2 nights

Day 3: Fez

At leisure in ancient Fez, which occupies a position of outstanding scenic beauty. Visit the exotic ancient Medina on the optional sightseeing tour, a maze of narrow, bustling streets and alleys that are home to colorful souks.

Day 4: Fez – Ifrane – Erfoud

Travel today into the very heart of Morocco. Stop in the quiet, French-built alpine mountain resort of Ifrane. Verdant cedar forests give way to volcanic mountains and windswept plains as you motor across the Middle Atlas range. Pass fortified mud-and-straw villages and descend into the spectacular Ziz Gorges. The landscape becomes progressively more arid and you enter a stony desert. Approaching Erfoud, encounter an unexpected and breathtaking surprise: the peaceful oasis of the Ziz Valley.

Hotel: Kasbah Tizimi, 2 nights

Day 5: Erfoud

The best choice today is an included excursion to Rissani to see the Mausoleum Of Moulay Ali Sharif, the first ruler of the Alaouite Dynasty. This evening, enjoy an optional excursion in the desert.

Day 6: Erfoud – The Road Of A Thousand Kasbahs – Ouarzazate

Enjoy the drive through the eastern slopes of the Atlas Mountains and arrive at the Tinerhir oasis with its green valley of palms and local villages. On to the impressive Todra Gorge, then along the Dades Valley. Arrive in the film capital of Morocco, Ouarzazate, where you’ll visit the Kasbah De Taourirt, the intricate but fascinating residence of Pasha Thami el Glaoui.

Hotel: Ibis Moussafir

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Tizi-N-Tichka Pass – Marrakesh

Travel to Aït Benhaddou, a kasbah famous as a film location for Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. Pass through picturesque villages surrounded by craggy mountains towards 7,414-foot-high Tizi-n-Tichka Pass in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. Each new twist in the road leads to a different, more dramatic landscape. Leaving the pass behind, see the landscape gradually change to a tapestry of red ochre. Enter the gates of the red-colored imperial city of Marrakesh, justly reputed the most fascinating of all Moroccan cities. An optional evening excursion is a fitting way to end the day.

Hotel: Zalagh Kasbah Hotel & Spa, 2 nights

Day 8: Marrakesh

From volcanos to rainforests, new discoveries abound on this Costa Rican all-encompassing adventure. Bubbling mud pools, rainforests teeming with wildlife, golden beaches and an active volcano are all yours for the taking on this adventure. Starting in the cultural capital city of San Jose, visit turtle nesting grounds and sky walk through the rainforest canopy before spending your final days on the glistening shores of the Guanacaste province.

Planning your holiday is easy, and speak to your friendly Consultant.

Day 1: Arrive San José

Let the Pura Vida way of life take over as you arrive in Costa Rica’s cultural capital, San Jose. Affectionally known as ‘Chepe’, San Jose may appear a little rough around the edges but a closer inspection will soon reveal the charming heart of this vibrant capital. Built on the profit of a roaring coffee trade, this a city overflowing with museums, parks, theatres and innovative restaurants. Arriving today, settle in to your hotel then feel free to head out to explore. Trendy Barrio Amón offers a wonderful glimpse into the history of the city with vast colonial mansions converted into art galleries, whilst Barrio Escalante is the gastronomic epicentre and the best place to grab dinner.

Hotel: Aloft San Jose

Day 2: San Jose – Monteverde

Finishing up your final morning in San Jose with a quick sightseeing tour of the city’s most iconic sights, you’ll then travel north towards the creative little town of Sarchí. Widely regarded as the cradle of Costa Rican artisanship, this is the place to buy intricate arts, crafts and souvenirs. The finest display of Sarchí’s creative offering comes courtesy of the highly decorative oxcarts that are displayed here. Elegantly carved and hand painted in bright colours, the oxcart is a national symbol of Costa Rica and a beautiful reminder of its humble beginnings. Take your time browsing the shops and stalls here, before continuing your journey through the Tilaran Mountain range. Climbing higher and high, we’ll be listening out for the collective sighs of appreciation as you enter the mysterious and misty Cloud Forest.

Hotel: El Establo Mountain Hotel, 2 nights

Day 3: Monteverde

Meeting up with a Local Specialist this morning, you’ll seemingly step into another world as you enter the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve. Home to a variety of different eco-systems, you’ll learn about the thousands of different plant and animals species that thrive in this area, many of which only exist right here. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears poised for the sounds of hummingbirds, howler monkeys, sloths, toucans, and if you’re really lucky, the Quetzal bird. Costa Rica has a big reputation as a nature lover’s paradise, and this place won’t let you down. Leaving the forest on a real nature high you’ll have time to relax this afternoon, or join our ‘El Trapiche’ Optional Experience tour where you’ll get to visit sugarcane, banana, orange and coffee plantations.

Day 4: Monteverde – Arenal

Enjoy the ride this morning as you travel past cattle ranches and coffee plantations on your way to Arenal Volcano National Park. One of the shining jewels in Costa Rica’s already bedazzling crown, the national park is best known for its bubbling hot springs and geothermal activity, wide variety of wildlife and of course the sleeping giant, Arenal Volcano. As exciting as this all is, your attention upon arrival will likely be taken up by your gorgeous and secluded resort, nestled on the banks of the San Carlos River. Boasting outdoor pools, a butterfly garden, botanical gardens growing all manner of fruit trees and tame iguanas roaming the grounds, you’ll likely feel like you’ve entered a little corner of heaven. Settle in and enjoy relaxing in paradise this afternoon, before joining your fellow travellers for an included dinner at the resort restaurant this evening.

Hotel: Tilajari Resort, 3 nights

Day 5: Arenal Full Day Sightseeing

A guided hike through Arenal 1968 is first up on today’s action packed agenda. Denoting its name from the year Arenal Volcano created its most catastrophic eruption, this private reserve gives you the chance to walk through lava fields, observe leftover lava rocks and boulders and walk through forest land for wonderful views of both the volcano and Arenal Lake, the largest lake in Costa Rica. After a browse around La Fortuna town and a spot of lunch, this afternoon you’ll then head to the famous Arenal Hanging Bridges Park. Meeting up with a Local Specialist, you’ll ‘sky walk’ your way through the jungle canopy, testing your head for heights on the 6 suspension bridges whilst spotting a whole manner of birdlife. This evening and to round off an incredible day, let your worries and stresses drift away as you relax in the mineral rich pools of a hot springs resort.

Day 6: Arenal Sightseeing and Free Time

Another day, and another chance to explore this natural wonderland. Your morning will begin with a safari float down the Peñas Blancas River, where you’ll join a Local Specialist and get to experience the peaceful tranquility of the rainforest whilst looking for monkeys, sloths, iguanas, caimans and tropical birds. On the way you’ll visit a local family who live and work on the river, gaining an appreciation for how connected the people of Costa Rica are to the natural environment. Back at your resort and with the afternoon free, enjoy going for a dip in the pool, play tennis, or join a horseback riding excursion through the rainforest.
