Day 1: Arrive Paro – Thimphu

On arrival into Paro, you will be met and transferred by road two hours to Thimphu.

Day 2: Thimphu

Start with a morning visit to the National Library, housing an extensive selection of Buddhist literature, some dating back several hundred years. Continue to a painting school, the National Memorial Chorten and the folk Heritage and National Textile Museum. This evening see the beautiful medieval Trashichhodzong monastery

Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha

Drive up to Dochula Pass, stopping briefly to take in the views. Afterwards visit the 17th century fortress Punakha Dzong before continuing on to Wangdue Phodrang local market.

Day 4. Punakha – Paro

En route to Paro stop by Simtokha Dzong, built in 1627. In Paro visit Ta Dzong.

Day 5: Paro

Drive up the valley to view the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong and then proceed for the five hour roundtrip journey by foot to Taktsang Monastery.

Day 6: Depart Paro

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
