Travel through the legendary Gobi desert exploring cultural heritage sites and experience the Khongor singing sand dunes. Then see where dinosaurs once roamed before moving to the green steppes of the Orkhon valley. Here be immersed in nomadic culture and lifestyle as we meet with the locals. Day 1: Arrive Ulaanbaatar

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar the capital city of Mongolia. Met on arrival and transfer to your hotel. This afternoon we will visit the National Museum and Central Square. Evening enjoy a Traditional art performance and Welcome Dinner.

Day 2: Yol Valley

Morning transfer to airport for your domestic flight to Dalanzadgad town, the center of South Gobi province. Arrival and meet by your driver then travel to Yol valley (Lammergeier’s Gorge) about 45kms. This picturesque place is nestled between the beautiful peaks of the Gurvan Saikhan Mountain, shelters rich wildlife. Visit Gobi museum and hike along the valley for 2-3hours.

Day 3: Khongor Sand Dunes

Travel to Khongor sand dunes for 180kms. Known as the Singing sand dunes, the Khongor dunes are up to 300ms high, 15kms wide, and 180kms long. Enjoy climbing Golden sand dunes. The view is incredible from the top of the dunes.

Day 4: Khongor Sand Dunes

Today we will visit a nomad family and have a chance to see nomadic life in the Gobi. You can taste traditional dairy products as made of camel cows’ milk. Enjoy camel riding for an hour then move back to Ger Camp.

Day 5: Bayanzag

Continue to Bayanzag for 170kms. Here we will see saxaul forest in the Gobi desert and red flaming cliffs, which were formed by the erosion of the sand and rock over many thousands of years. This is the place where dinosaurs once lived 70 million years ago and is internationally famous for its dinosaur remains of complete skeletons, eggs and hatchlings of the Cretaceous Period.

Day 6: Ongi

This morning travel to Ongi temple ruin for 140kms. This afternoon we explore the area where ruins of ancient temples are situated. Visit a small local temple and meet with monks.

Day 7: Orkhon Valley

Drive to Orkhon valley for 5-6 hours, about 240kms. We leave the Gobi behind and enter to the forest mountain and steppe zone. Finally reaching your Ger camp in Orkhon valley.

Day 8: Kharakhorum

Travel for 100kms to Kharakhorum, the ancient capital of the Great Mongolian Empire where Chinggis Khaan established his headquarters in 1220. We will visit Erdenezuu monastery, the largest and first Mongolian Buddhist temple complex built on the remains of 16thcentury Kharakhorum city. Then we visit a local historical museum and cultural heritage sites around the town.

Day 9: Gurvanbulag

Continue travel to community based Ger camp at Gurvanbulag county of Bulgan province for 100kms. Here we have an opportunity to learn and experience more in-depth about nomadic lifestyle and culture. Visit a nomad family and enjoy their hospitality. Taste traditional dishes and play Mongolian games. Enjoy the horsemen show how the nomads train untamed horses.

Day 10: Khustai National Park

Travel to Khustai National Park for 200kms. On the way, visit Khar Bukhiin Balgas, the remains of an ancient fortress of nomad tribes dated back to 10th century. Continue our drive to Khustai National Park. Visit the Information Center for an introductory presentation. Travel in the park to see the Takhi wild horses in their natural wilderness environment.

Day 11: Ulaanbaatar

Today we will travel for 100kms to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. There will be time for guided shopping, cashmere and souvenirs. This evening enjoy your Farewell Dinner.

Day 12: Depart Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast at leisure until transfer to airport for your departure flight.
