Day 1: Arrive Ho Chi Minh City

On arrival at Ho Chi Minh City International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the afternoon is free at leisure.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City

This morning enjoy a half-day city tour of Ho Chi Minch City with a visit to the former Presidential Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, Saigon Post Office, War Remnant museum and Ben Thanh market. The afternoon is free at leisure.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City

This morning visit the amazing Cu Chi Tunnels where Vietnamese guerrillas built a labyrinth of narrow tunnels as hideouts during the war. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon.

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh City

Depart Ho Chi Minh City for the Mekong Delta. At My Tho take a boat cruise along the river and a short walk to visit a handicraft workshop where products are made from coconut trees. Experience a horse-drawn cart to visit a local house where you can enjoy tea and taste some tropical fruits grown in the region. Float on a sampan through the narrow, tree-lined canals of the Mekong Delta. After lunch visit a family-run business making coconut candies before returning to My Tho mainland. Visit the Vinh Trang pagoda if time permits and return to Ho Chi Minh City late afternoon.

Day 5: Ho Chi Minh City – Nha Trang

You will be transferred to Ho Chi Minh City Domestic Airport early this morning for your flight to Nha Trang. On arrival in Nha Trang, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the afternoon is free at leisure.

Day 6: Nha Trang

Enjoy Nha Trang’s turquoise waters and white sandy beaches with a boat cruise to the offshore islands in Nha Trang Bay. In the afternoon, visit the Po Nagar Cham Towers, the Long Son Pagoda, Nha Trang Cathedral. A visit to a local fish and food market is optional.

Day 7: Nha Trang – Danang – Hoi An

You will be transferred to Nha Trang Domestic Airport early this morning for your flight to Danang. On arrival in Danang, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the afternoon is free at leisure.

Hotel: Hoi An Beach Resort, 3 nights

Day 8: Hoi An

Pay a visit to one of Hoi An’s famous lantern workshops and learn how to make one yourself before setting out on a walking tour to explore this World Heritage City. Highlights include an ancient merchant house, the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the vibrant riverside market. Take a peaceful boat trip on the Thu Bon River and afterwards enjoy free time to further explore the old town.

Day 9: Hoi An

In the morning, drive to the remarkable ruins of My Son located in a remote jungle valley. My Son was formerly the religious centre of the Cham Kingdom and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site with more than 20 well-preserved monuments. Drive back to Hoi An in the afternoon.

Day 10: Hoi An – Hue

After breakfast drive along the coast, through emerald-green paddy fields and over the spectacular Hai Van Mountain pass (Ocean Cloud Pass) and the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co before reaching Hue.

Day 11: Hue

Take enjoy morning boat cruise on the peaceful Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda and then drive to the poetic mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc. In the afternoon, proceed to visit the Imperial Citadel and the Dong Ba Market. The spectacular Citadel (which was built in accordance to strict principles of geomancy) houses a series of palaces, ornate halls, libraries, residences and colleges.

Day 12: Hue – Hanoi

You will be transferred to Hue Domestic Airport early this morning for your flight to Hanoi. On arrival in Hanoi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the afternoon is free at leisure.

Day 13: Hanoi

After breakfast explore Hanoi’s illustrious history. In the morning, visit the imposing marble edifice housing the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum (closed on Mondays & Fridays) before moving onto his wooden stilt house and the One Pillar Pagoda. You will then explore the first university of Vietnam, the Temple of Literature, which is imbued with the profound philosophies of Confucianism. In the afternoon, visit the Hoan Kiem Lake and the Ngoc Son Temple and the bustling Old Quarter.

Day 14: Hanoi – Halong Bay

This morning drive through green rice paddy fields to Ha Long Bay to board the Jasmine Junk. Considered Vietnam’s greatest natural wonder, Halong Bay boasts around 3,000 islands that rise out of the sea providing a spectacular natural environment. Around noon board the boat and begin your cruise through the bay while lunch is served. After lunch, visit a floating fishing village where you will have the opportunity to observe fishermen who have been living in the bay for generations. Spend some time exploring the bay by small rowing bamboo boat. Return to the boat for cooking demonstration before dinner.

Cruise: Jasmine Junk, 2 nights

Day 15: Halong Bay

After breakfast, transfer to your day trip boat and cruise to the bay’s most untouched areas. Visit one of the biggest caves in Halong Bay and visit a Pearl Farm Village. Return to the main boat in the afternoon.

Day 16: Halong Bay – Hanoi

Greet the day with morning Tai Chi and an opportunity to view sunrise over the bay. Continue your explorations of the bay, with a swim, or take the opportunity to hike to the top of one of the islands for great views and photo opportunities. Return to the boat and continue cruising through this spectacular environment whilst enjoying buffet brunch. Disembark and transfer to Hanoi.

Day 17: Depart Hanoi

Depending on your flight, you may have time at leisure before you will be transferred to Hanoi International Airport.
